DESCRIPTION:

This remarkable view shows the Somersetshire Coal Canal emerging from under the Midford Road and turning to go under the Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway viaduct and Midford. The victorian house on the far right was demolished to make way for the Camerton to Limpley Stoke railway viaduct. Two towpaths are shown here, subject to whether the route to Paulton or Radstock would be taken. Copied from the photographer's original glass negative
