Crane and Stone Yard, probably at Shaft Quarry near the Lodge Stile, Combe Down, c.1905

From a collection of glass lantern slides, donated to Bath Central Library. It is possible they were created by a surveyor with an interest in Bath's architecture who was engaged in work at Prior Park, the Assembly Rooms and the Guildhall. Probably Combe Down. A trolley, containing cut stone, packed with straw is seen in the foreground. The crane has been identified as an iron bed type, so this must be a Bath location.
