Description

This view across the northern part of the city takes in Camden Crescent with St Swithin's Church (Walcot) below and St Stephen's (Lansdown) above. The house in the middle foreground was Glencairn Villa, which has now been replaced by a modern block called Glencairn House The house on the left is now Pulteney House B&B. The entrance to Bathwick Tunnel on the GWR line is visible through the trees below Bathwick Terrace (exposed fireplaces). Scanned from the photographer's original negative. Most of these images were taken before he started producing postcards, and before he saved his images on glass plates.
