View across city centre from Sydney Buildings, c.1950s

This view includes the familiar forms of Bath Abbey and the Empire Hotel. The spires of St Michael (L) and St Andrew (R, demolished after being bombed in WWII) can be seen; between them are the treetops in the Circus and in the far distance, the trees at Kelston Roundhill. Below the spire of St Michael is the Convent of La Sainte Union in Pulteney Road. Scanned from the photographer's original negative. Most of these images were taken before he started producing postcards, and before he saved his images on glass plates.
