This is a view north along the canal below Sydney Buildings. On the right are Baird's Maltings, with houses in Bathwick Hill in the distance. On the left (foreground) are the stop boards mounted on racks made from old rails belonging to the railway company who owned the canal. Scanned from the photographer's original negative. Most of these images were taken before he started producing postcards, and before he saved his images on glass plates.
