PS Empress and PS Alexandra dominate the scene. PS Empress operated out of Bournemouth & Weymouth, sailing to Swanage and the IOW. Her engines survive in the Maritime Museum at Southampton. PS Alexandra was built in 1879 and operated out of Weymouth from 1918-1925. Scanned from the photographer's original negative. Most of these images were taken before he started producing postcards, and before he saved his images on glass plates.
