The Sandbanks Ferry has run between Sandbanks and Studland since 1926. The chain ferry still operates daily, carrying all manner of traffic across the mouth of Poole Harbour, cutting out the long journey time to places like Corfe Castle and Swanage from Poole by taking the direct route. Copied from the photographer's original glass negative.
