The Cross Bath and Melfort Cross, 1738

J.Fayram delin et Sculp. John Fayram, 27 Jan 1738/9. The dimensions of the bath are given as: Length 24 ft 6 in, Breath north 19 ft 11 in, south end 12 ft 7 in. Contains 53 tuns, 47 gallons. This cross was erected at the expence of the Earl of Melford, 1688. One of the cherubs from the cross can still be seen in a niche above a shop in New Bond Street.
