Midford Signal Box October 1967

Midford Signal Box October 1967
2 8 c m
actual image size: 32cm x 20cm

The gaunt shell of Midford box still stands in October 1967 whilst the station building has already suffered at the hands of the demolition gangs whose bottles of propane gas can be seen at the platform end. The tablet catching apparatus leans drunkenly against the wall of the box. From a private collection of slides of the Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway, taken in the year following closure of the line in 1966
