Lane at Clandown where the modern road turns away from the line of the Fosse Way to join the newer main road to the right which converges with the original line at the crest of the hill, running then across the level plateau towards Peasedown St. John more or less on the line of the original Roman road. From a private collection of photographs from approximately the 1950s relating to the Turnpikes in Bath and the surrounding area. Attributed to Ken Marchant of Radstock.
