The demolition of the original railway bridge on Pulteney Road, October 1975
Partially demolished, revealing the void within the construction. The Brunel-built bridge was demolished in September 1975, to enable Pulteney Road to be widened. In the space of two days the railway was back in operation, the brick built original structure being replaced by a steel box girder.
