The new box girder bridge in position, Oct 1975
The photographer's son looks on, unhindered by the burdens of Health & Safety protection. The Brunel-built bridge was demolished in September 1975, to enable Pulteney Road to be widened. In the space of two days the railway was back in operation, the brick built original structure being replaced by a steel box girder.
