Description

The temporary contractor's railway winds along the route of the abandoned canal, an accommodation bridge and the junction with the Midford Aqueduct can be seen. From a set of 11 unique photographs, recording the construction of the Camerton to Limpley Stoke Railway. This mostly followed the route of the abandoned Somersetshire Coal Canal. Built by men assisted by this giant 'Steam Navvy'. Copied from the photographer's original glass negative
