Description

This view was taken during the clearance of James Street West, and the construction of the Social Security Building by W.S. Frost for the Ministry of Public Building and Works. It clearly shows how Kingsmead Street used to link with New Kings Street, providing the main road into Bath from the West. Kingsmead Street was severely bombed during the Bath Blitz and was completely cleared.
