The plate states: Planted by Rose Lamartine Yates 30th October 1909. This is the last tree to survive from the arboretum and can still be seen towering over Seven Acres Lane in Batheaston today. From a unique collection of glass plate negatives taken by Col. Linley Blathwayt of Eagle House, Batheaston, home of refuge for suffragettes between 1908 and 1912.
