The background on this plate was blacked out, to appear white in the positive. This was possibly one of the images provided for sale by Linley Blathwayt to raise funds for the suffragettes. From a unique collection of glass plate negatives taken by Col. Linley Blathwayt of Eagle House, Batheaston, home of refuge for suffragettes between 1908 and 1912.
