This image had the background blackened, to appear white in the positive. Intriguingly dressed in a masculine style. Probably produced for sale to raise funds for the suffragettes. See Image Ref. 17276. From a unique collection of glass plate negatives taken by Col. Linley Blathwayt of Eagle House, Batheaston, home of refuge for suffragettes between 1908 and 1912.
