Looking through the level crossing gates, Monkton Combe Station c.1920

A rare view of the goods yard where workers are handling sacks from Freemans flocking mill in the background. The road sign reads - Private Road to Monkton Combe Mills. No A.34. The iron gate posts are all that survives of this scene. The station found fame as Titfield Station in the film The Titfield Thunderbolt of 1952.
