Description

The monument at Lansdown commemorates the Battle of Lansdown in 1643. This view looks away from Bath and towards Gloucestershire, with the position of Lilliput Castle hidden just below the monument. The pencil and wash sketch is number 34. From a collection of 45 sketches of Bath by Thomas Robins the Elder (1716-1770). By kind permission of V&A Images.
