Description

Separated by a spacious forecourt from the proposed new East and West through Traffic Route (Julian Road). St. Andrew's Church (with spire removed) is in the Centre Foreground. A report prepared for the Bath and District joint Planning Committee by Sir Patrick Abercrombie, John Owens and H. Anthony Mealand. A comprehensive report published immediately after the war assessing Bath's present and future. Accompanied by many illustrations, this visionary work was never executed in full, its legacy was the Bus Station and estates in Twerton.
