360 degree view of Bath from a Stothert and Pitt crane, 16 February 1971

Such a contrast to what you would see today. The area in the foreground is now dominated by the Sainsburys petrol station and new road layout. Note the small Stothert & Pitt crane in the foreground, similar to the one that is now at the entrance to the Bath Riverside housing development. St James cemetery is in the background, still sporting its full needle thin spire. A fabulous series of images giving a shot by shot 360 degree view of Bath in 1971 from the top of a Stothert and Pitt crane. See Image references 49964-49979 for the full set.
