Description

This amazing view shows the Empire Hotel being built and the demolition of the fish market to allow for the construction of Grand Parade. The left hand end of Pulteney Bridge is complete, prior to being shortened to allow for the new road. From a couple of loose pages of a very early 20th century photograph album.
