Description

A New Way to Preserve a Good Name, Get Riches & Preferment. A man with pamphlets in his pockets and a devil on his shoulder takes money from a collection plate held by an invalid with 'Bath Hospital' on a medallion around his neck. The man says 'A Shell for them, A Shell forthee, The middle is a Tythe for me', to which the invalid replies, 'Good Mr Cancer Pray draw it not all away'. It is likely that the man is a pamphlet writer, who, having promised to give the proceeds to the Hospital, has kept some for himself.
