Description

Note by Hunt: This house has been erroneously designated as the house of the Chapman family. It was built in 1732 by Mister Rosewell. The shield over the attic window above the street door bears a rose and a date, 1732. The house was advertised to be let October 22nd 1744 (Bath Journal). Alderman Chapman was chosen Mayor of Bath September 24th 1744 and the lived at 7 or 9 Kingsmead Square.
