Description

Robert Adam, designer of Pulteney Bridge was responsible for the first designs of the scheme, however Thomas Baldwin took over after what was thought to have been a falling out. Showing an early plan for the Bathwick Estate. This layout was not adopted, however the central spine follows the line of Great Pulteney Street, terminating at Sydney Gardens. The original plan can be found at the Soane Museum. See Image ref 54366.
