The ship served as a troopship during the First World War, which gained her the nickname Old Reliable. From a fabulous album of photographs by Major Adrian Hopkins, Mayor for Bath 1953. This looks like they were all taken towards the end or after the end of the war, about 1916 - 1920. The signs of battle are clear and this gives a fascinating insight as to the effects of the Great War.
