Lithographs' in the book in which they appear (Stothert, Picturesque Bath, 1881). Although over twenty years too late for automatic inclusion in this book, they are worth mentioning because of the ease with which they might be confused with tinted lithographs. The difference - a very regular printing pattern suggesting a mechanical origin - is revealed under a strong glass. All the illustrations are printed in a distinctive wine-coloured ink, with a grey-brown tint.
