Floods at the Old Bridge, Bath, c.1960

Whiteway, Jim

Description

Most probably from the flood on December 1960. The constricting arches of the Old Bridge was the reason it had to be demolished and replaced with the single span Churchill Bridge. Note the looming coal fired power station in the background and the fine view of Electricity (Churchill) House. From the photographic collection of Jim Whiteway (1931-2014)
