Description

Also Fortt's bakery. Tons of biscuits were baked on the premises and shipped out to the troops in France during the Great War. Two tons of biscuits were destroyed but thousands of loaves of bread were saved. The concrete floor prevented the fire spreading to the basement. The upper floor shown here was completely burnt out.
